Images can be compressed without losing image quality, allowing users to reduce file sizes by up to 70% while maintaining quality. (*) As a result, the burden on the distribution server can be reduced, so that higher quality content can be distributed at a lower cost.
The image compression technology in Clip Studio Reader uses an algorithm that avoids block artifacts and mosquito noise.The new feature reduces color bleeding such as faint red lines when compressing color comics, and comes with a mode for decoding black-and-white comics at a high speed, allowing for more efficient, higher-quality image compression compared to webP and AVIF techniques.
Customers of Clip Studio Reader can use the latest version of the viewer and converter within existing workflows without additional cost. This technology can be used within existing solutions, so that service providers can continue to offer their services to a wide range of users.
